Description
Up for auction is this vintage Zuni Native American Indian colored pencil drawing with beautiful and finely detailed Kachina in center and standing over a rainbow beneath him. Entitled “Corn Dance” and done by listed artist “Fleet Foot” or Edmund Ladd (Zuni Artist, 1926 - 1999) and signed on the back cardboard matting with a hand written story about the art also included. Bright beautiful colors and a wonderful work of art that is framed and ready to hang.Some minor losses to the paper in the bottom left corner and slight discoloration but really displays beautifully and a rare piece by this Zuni artist! His works are part of museum and private collections around the world.
Edmund J. Ladd was born on January 4, 1926. He was a coyote clan member, a National Park Service archeologist, and a delegate for the religious council. Ladd also goes by Fleet Foot; Helele; Lapilakwa; Lapilaokya.
Frame measures 13” inches wide by 17” inches tall (33 cm, 43.2 cm).
