    This pair of original San Ildefonso Pueblo pen and ink and watercolor paintings are signed J. D. Roybal.
    José
    D. Roybal, who was a son of famous S.I. potter Tonita Roybal, painted seriously from the 1950's-70's after serving in WWII and becoming disabled.  His work is characterized by detailed drawing and strong watercolor work with characters having individual identities.
    These excellent paintings are framed in very good matching hand carved pine frames of the same vintage.
