    Description

    Vintage Original Watercolor
    Hopi Artist GEORGE SILAS
This is a rare watercolor (acrylic?) painting because it was painted by an artist famous for his KACHINA wood carvings. It is signed SILAS ‘76.
This would have been done when he was attending Phoenix Indian High School. (Previous owner’s name and address are in the back; he also attended Phoenix Indian High School.)
The subject is KWAHU, a Hopi Indian Eagle Dancer. It is framed with an inexpensive document frame, so I would suggest sending just the artwork. Size is about 10” x 12”
(irregular). It has some handling-smudging around the area
outside of the subject art, due to its age.
