Antique Sterling Silver Hairbrush And Mirror Set, Shell Only Roses Ornate. I found this set at an estate sale. The brushes and mirror came loose as I was cleaning the silver. I took them out and cleaned out the substance that was holding them in. I really don’t know much about the set, but it is very old and very fragile. On four out of the five pieces I was able to find the sterling mark and photograph that. On the piece that would’ve held the mirror I could not find the sterling mark. There are some marks that are very faint and could not photograph. However it is the same set with the same monogram so I am sure it is also sterling. The handles are all hollow except for one. It may be filled with the substance that was holding the brush. It is photographed in the last picture. This is really some beautiful silver so nicely decorated. Maybe somebody could repurpose it or use it for scrap. The total weight is 296 g, however I don’t know if that one handle is hollow or filled.
