    DESCRIPTION:
The Coupe - Audi technology and Bavarian craftsmanship make this GT the coupe du jour.
In the haus of Audi here in Ingolstadt, Germany, we know that flashy sheet metal, catchy names and fancy GT decals do not make a GT Coupe.
    But, engineering credentials do.
The Audi Coupe has all the credentials of a classic European GT Coupe. Power. Handling. Luxury appointments. Elegant fastback styling, with a drag coefficient of only 0.39 and a
ground clearance of 4.7 inches. All of which makes it a driver’s car.
It has all the credentials of an Audi. Refined front-wheel drive. Powerful five-cylinder engine that does zero to 50 in 7.4 while purring at 2100 rpm in fifth gear.
It has all the credentials of Bavarian craftsmanship. Old world quality and meticulous attention to detail.
When Road & Track named it “the best sports coupe for the ’80s" they ob
served, this Audi is “likely to send other sport coupe designers back to their drawing boards.”
In the meantime, our engineers are pleased to serve you a most appetizing coupe du jour.

    The Coupe”
    - In Bavaria, we weren
’t suprised to hear Road & Track named it the “Best sport coupe for the 80s.

For many cars, such lavish praise might be impossible to live up to. But not for this car.
The Audi Coupe is, clearly, the quintessential Gran Turismo Sports Coupe.
In naming it the best sports coupe for the 80s, the editors of Road & Track are not alone. Motor Trend: “... we’d have to call it the most ferociously desirable new car in 1981.”
Car and Driver: The Coupe is “... one of the most effective remedies yet, for
    creeping four-door boredom.”
From the drawing boards in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Audi engineers have created a car that truly advances the art of GT Coupes.
In sleek, good looks and aerodynamics, it is second to none. In engineering, the Coupe offers Audi’s matchless front-wheel drive, five-cylinder powerplant (0-50 in 7.4) and a tenacious road-holding ride. The interior is first-class European GT styling.
Even the EPA numbers are impressive: EPA estimated 24 mpg and 37 estimated highway.*
All in all, quite a coup for our Coupe. For your nearest Porsche Audi dealer, call toll free.
